The Grating
OMG I just grated the side of my right thumb so bad!!
I thought I would faint.
Am cooking dinner to go to a goodbye Shine dinner at my (ex) boss Jackie's house and got out the big grater so it would be faster (coz I usually use the small grater).
And I am grating away and I look down just as my thumb goes slicing down the grater... SO DEEP.. I gasped and saw inner bright white flesh and quickly ran it under tap to wash off cheese then clamped my other thumb hard on it before it could bleed... so deep my other thumb went, like, into a hole!
Then I nearly fainted
Then I tried to calm down.
I tried to find the first aid kit I just brought home from work when i packed up my office - but it is in one of the file boxes and I couldn't open the boxes with busy hands.
Then I remembered there is one in the civil defence emergency tub.
So I had to get into it.. it has the pack and the tent and the skateboard on top of it...*notetoself*
I looked in there going COME ON.,. the first aid kit is easy to find remember... it is one of the easy things in here to find!!
But I couldn't see it because I was looking for the blue one.
(the blue one is in the car)
The one in the tub is one of the red ones.
So I found it then I scrambled through it looking for gauze to pack my hole. *shudders*
Which I find but I can't open it without starting to hemorrhage.
so then I find the roll of plaster, which you have to cut with scissors,
ummm too hard with no thumb.
So then I go back to Todd's idea of paper towel
which I found myself trying to cut with scissors...
ahhhhh
Had to fold up bit of paper towel and find some tape to wrap it up around hole I didn't want to look at.
So bad! Then I had to go back to the grater coz I was way behind schedule .... big lump of my skin was hanging off it like a piece of grated cheese!!!
Can I faint now!!!
PS Please forgive nature of my writing style.. one hand traumatised writing style while waiting for Spinach Canneloni to be cooked and figuring out a plan for removing said bubbling lava from the oven with corrupted agility.
